My first Christmas cake this year is this fun and festive reindeer cake! When I saw Bakers Party Shop had antler cake toppers I knew immediately I wanted to make a reindeer cake this year. I also made matching cupcakes with their antler cupcake rings! A fun detail about the antlers is that I painted them with glamorous gold edible art paint which transformed them and made them stand out even more on the cake and cupcakes.

When thinking about what kind of reindeer I wanted to make for my cake I couldn't help but think of the most famous reindeer of all...Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer! So traditional colors with a red nose (of course) and a pop of gold was perfect to give the cake an upscale yet traditional look. To embellish around the antlers I used the ateco star tip set and the ateco rose frosting tip set to pipe red and white roses, swirls and rosettes around the antlers, and the bottom border.

The eyes are from the Sweet Tooth Fairy Cake Face Kit. The kit gives you pieces and elements to help you create a face on a cake in no time. If you prefer, you can draw on your own eyes with black edible art paint or pipe them on with frosting. The nose is special just like Rudolph's nose, it's made of a red starburst molded into a circle and dipped in red disco glitter. The final decoration on my reindeer cake is sprinkles, because lets face it, every cake is better with sprinkles! The gold snowflake Sprinklefetti Christmas sprinkle mix was the perfect blend to add extra details to my Christmas cake and cupcakes.

I displayed my reindeer cake on the White Sweet Tooth Fairy Cake Stand Bonus Holiday Set. This sweet stand is so versatile, you can use it as a cupcake stand or cake stand. It comes with extra bonuses including holiday themed stickers, cake boards and gold and white cupcake liners. The cupcake liners are so pretty and created an elegant classic look for my Christmas dessert display that I decided I needed to make mini cupcakes too and used the matching gold mini cupcake liners.

When creating my Christmas dessert display I wanted to incorporate traditional colors into the display to accent the red used on my reindeer cake. I did this by using a plaid tablecloth as the backdrop. Because my reindeer cake is white it helped make the cake pop on the display instead of getting lost against a light colored wall. Adding some gold mini party banners to the plaid backdrop helped tie in the gold antlers on the cake. Add some pine cones and bottle brush trees (a must this time of year right!) and you have a beautiful festive Christmas dessert display in no time!

For serving my Christmas desserts I picked out pretty gold dessert plates by Meri Meri. Bakers Party Shop carries a few colors of these perfect sized plates that work for desserts or appetizers. They are a must have party item for Christmas and if you have any left over you can use them for New Years! For my Christmas cupcakes I used the same white cake stand that with a few adjustments transforms into a tiered stand. To keep things simple I piped swirls of buttercream on the top of the cupcakes and then added the antler ring toppers that I painted gold, and a dash of sprinkles finished them off. They were so easy to make and create such a statement just by using the stand! You too can make a reindeer cake and cupcakes like this for your Christmas celebration!
