Best Fall Sweets: Cookies, Lollipops + Cakesicles
This week we are sharing the Best Fall Sweets including cookies, lollipops and cakesicles by guest contributor Brittanie Reed of Brittanie Bakes. Brittanie has a modern and fun style and we challenged her to create some fun sweets that could take you from Halloween into fall. Her take on the color palette she used along with her modern style will have you wanting to try making some of these modern fall sweets for yourself! Take it away Brittanie...
I've always loved Sweet Sugarbelle's cookie style, so when she started creating her own cookie cutter sets I knew I needed them. These mini fall cookie cutters and shapes are the perfect size, and are made extra cute with an unexpected color palette. Little details make all the difference-layered tops on the acorns, eyebrows on the skulls, and small piped accents on pumpkins. I really do love Fall most of all, especially when these sweet fall sugar cookies are involved! There are boundless ways you can decorate your cookies, try different colors to extend seasonal shapes into the next season. With Halloween and Fall blended together who says a skull just has to be for Halloween...which leads us to our next fall sweet!
If it's a cute skull, I must have it in my life. As soon as I saw the Halloween Tombstone and Skull cakesicle molds I was dreaming up ideas for them. Rather than go with the expected black and orange for Halloween, I kept with a lighter modern fall color scheme of pinks, blue and orange and I think it paid off. Piped royal icing gives this set a sweet touch, without hiding the great details in the mold! Cakesicles are one of the hottest trends in the sweet making world and Bakers Party Shop has the largest selection of cakesicle molds available with more shapes to come.
I’m a firm believe in the idea that any food on a stick is more fun to eat, so who could resist these chocolate lollipops?! Multiple sizes make it an obvious treat for little ones, as well as those who crave chocolate in large quantities. You'll find a variety of shapes and round sizes of lollipop molds here at Bakers Party Shop. These pretty lollipops were super quick and easy fall sweet to make-just melt and pour your chocolate, add a super cute lollipop stick or paper straw, and decorate with sprinkles, candy, or in this case royal icing. To make things a little easier you can use ready to use royal icing that you color yourself. A definitely crowd pleaser no matter the event!
We hope you enjoyed Brittanie's choices as the best fall sweets! Her modern, colorful and fun take on fall cookies, cakesicles and lollipops are bound to inspire! We love seeing how makers and sweet makers think outside the box and try something new with the sweets they are making. The pretty color palette she used helps some of the Hallween style sweets work for all of fall! Next time you are working on something fun for your holiday sweets give a new color palette or decorating idea a try...your results could be as pretty as these fall sweets!
Happy fall sweet making,
