Chocolate Spoons with Sprinkles

Chocolate spoons with sprinkles are a quick and easy treat to make! Make them to use for party favors, baby shower favors (think gender reveal with cute sprinkles!) or even surprising your kids by tucking one in their lunch box. This would also be a fun project to do with kids at a birthday party too! Make the spoons ahead and have the cookie icing and a variety of sprinkles for the kids to decorate their own chocolate spoons...easy peasy and oh so fun!

We've added many new silicone candy molds to the shop and the mini spoon candy mold is a fun one! In the cool winter months where hot cocoa is a favorite drink you could make these without the sprinkles and add some tiny micro marshmallows to create hot cocoa spoons you can add to your mug of hot cocoa to make them even more chocolatey!

How to make chocolate spoons with sprinkles:

Step 1: Melt your white chocolate. If it is too thick you can add 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to loosen it up. If you want to tint the chocolate a color we recommend Elaine's Candy Color which is a food coloring that works in white or light colored chocolate. We used 4 drops of green to create a soft mint green color.

Step 2: Put your melted chocolate in a disposable frosting bag. Place your mini silicone spoon mold on a flat baking pan. Snip off about .25" of the tip of the bag and fill each cavity in the mold. Using a frosting bag helps you get the chocolate into the mold without making a mess. Once each spoon is filled with chocolate lightly tap the baking pan on the counter to get any air bubbles out of the chocolate. You will see them rise to the surface of the chocolate. This also helps get the chocolate in all areas of the mold. Allow the chocolate to set up until firm. To speed up this process place the baking pan in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Remove your chocolate spoons from the mold. Don't handle them too much as the heat from your hands will quickly melt the chocolate. Place them on a cookie sheet. Add a small round of cookie icing (we used Betty Crocker). This is an icing that can be found in most grocery stores. It is thick and provides a nice surface for your sprinkles. We used it on our candy chocolate doughnuts if you want to see another way to use the icing. It's not just for cookies!

Step 4: Sprinkle the cookie icing with the sprinkles of your choice. We used our new Sprinklefetti Under the Sea Sprinkle Mix. It has become a new customer favorite so we selected it to show you what it looks like in use. It is full of all kinds of sprinkle styles and pretty shades of cool colors!

Allow the cookie icing to set up for a few hours. You can enjoy your chocolate spoons as is or package them up for gift giving by using small clear bags and a pretty coordinating twist tie. Our silver paper twist ties worked perfectly!

You only need a few ingredients to make our chocolate spoons with sprinkles and they take no time at all to make! Don't forget to pin this tutorial for later.

Happy chocolate spoon making!
