Who Doesn't Love Sprinkles? When we came up with the idea to celebrate our fondness of "sprinkles" we knew we weren't the only ones who loved these colorful and fun sugar accents! We are excited to share with you this pretty styled party display that includes items or inspiration from each of our wonderful contributing vendors. Be sure to check out their sites (links to them are at the bottom of the post) for more party and baking ideas and to see the great products they offer that you can use for your next special event or party! Now let the sprinkle and sweet treats party begin!
Sprinkles Make Everything Better: Melissa of Design Eat Repeat & Sprinkleberrie Paperie created a wonderful print for us to feature. Having a print that fits your party theme makes a great focal point for your display and provides a nice keepsake! And who are we kidding...sprinkles DO make everything better! We found a pretty frame and instead of using a store bought matte for the print we cut a piece of cork board to fit the frame and attached the print to it with a piece of washi tape from Silent Poetry Arts. With a print that cute it needed to be displayed in a creative and fun way! We used washi tape in a few ways. There are so many things you can do with it is a party supply must have! Once you start using it you'll want to put it on everything and Silent Poetry Arts has a wonderful selection of colors and fun prints! We used it to decorate the small white vases and to make the flags on our teeny honeycomb balls party picks. Aren't they adorable! They were super easy to make with our painted rock candy sticks, teeny 2" honeycomb balls and then a piece of washi tape to make the cute flag!
For the Love of Sweets: Our celebration month is all about SPRINKLES and showcasing sweet treats along with them was a given! Sprinkles, sweet treats, pretty colors and showcasing great products is what makes this display special! It would be perfect for a little girls birthday or even a baby shower. A variety of fun treats were used to create quite the sweet treat feast! We incorporated hand made desserts with store bought confections that we decorated with sprinkles of course! A nice balance of both lets you showcase special family favorites along side treats you can spruce up to save time in the kitchen. Love From The Oven's Smart Cookie Book is a great resource for quick and easy ways to turn store bought items into fun and festive treats! Perfect for parties and kids projects and someone will have a chance to win one! Did you notice the cute mason jar with sprinkles on it in the picture above? It is a mini pinata made by Lisa of Handcrafted Parties. It even has a hidden door so you can fill with trinkets and treats! This would be perfect for the birthday girl! Tuck a little birthday note inside with the treats to let your birthday girl know how special she is!
It's Cupcake Time: No party is complete without some pretty cupcakes, right?! Sweets and Treats Boutique cupcake liners come in a variety of pretty colors and designs. The colors and whites stay bright after baking letting you make the most perfect party cupcakes! We decorated them with a simple swirl of frosting, sprinkled on some of our pastel rainbow non pareil sprinkles and then decided to top them with yet another little sweet treat! We bought store bought fudge iced brownies and cut them into small rectangles and added some of our pastel polka dot quin sprinkles to the top. We also made some cute tiny sugar cookie sandwich cookies that make the perfect cupcake topper don't you think?! Having a variety of treats in your party display lets your guests select what they want and makes it more fun for your taste buds! Green Mountain Mini Baked Mini Baked makes the most darling baked mini donuts. Soft pastel colors covered in sprinkles...pinch me! They added the perfect touch to the center of our dessert display lined up with other yummy treats. Just wait until you see where else we used them! If you love donuts make sure to check them out...they ship them anywhere in the USA! You can order donuts by the dozens for your next special event or whenever you get a donut craving...which is everyday right?!
What Goes With Cupcakes? Ice cream of course! TIP: You can prep your ice cream ahead of time so you can take it out of the freezer right before the party starts. Scoop some ice cream into our pink polka dot portion cups and pop them back in the freezer until party time. The cups are a perfect size for one big scoop of ice cream or a few mini ones. Make sure not to over fill them as the ice cream will soften as it sets out and you don't want it to overspill especially when you are using a pretty polka dot tablecloth like we did! We used party cake ice cream that has chunks of cake and frosting in it that matched our display. And of coarse we had to add some of our sprinkles on top! We added a bite size sugar cookies that we iced and sprinkled on some of our pastel rainbow non pareils and tucked in one of our polka dot small wooden taster spoons. Now you have the perfect portion of ice cream to go with your cupcake!
Show Stopper Cake #1: We knew when putting together this party display that the cake needed to impress! What's better than one cake?...having two! The first cake...just look at it! Any kid would love a having a birthday cake like this! We made a rice crispy cake and lined the sides with Fatty Sunday's white chocolate covered sprinkle pretzels. Look at all of the fun colors they come in! If you love chocolate covered pretzels you must check them out! They would make perfect party or wedding favors! Now back to this cake...after we added the pretzels we knew the top of the cake needed to pop! And boy did it pop once we added some of A Taste To Remembers ice cream cone cake pops. She used a variety of our sprinkles to give them the perfect finishing touches. The colors look so nice on the chocolate drizzle on the ice cream cone! These cake pops are so whimsical and fun they make the perfect topper for our cake! Since we wanted to go over the top with this cake we added 3 of the cake pops to the top! If that wasn't enough decoration after I assembled the cake I stared at it for a few more minutes and then realized that a few of Green Mountain Mini Baked Donuts would fill in the top of the cake perfectly! Now it was almost done. Just one last important final detail...the ribbon! Ribbon by Design makes beautiful satin ribbon. Their "Ice Cream Novelties" print was the perfect finishing touch to this stunning cake! We used their pretty cupcake print ribbon in a few other places in our display too.
It's Party Favor Time: Party favors are almost like stockings at Christmas, right?! Whether it is a favor bag, box or berry basket filled with treats and trinkets you know its going to be fun! When deciding on what you want to offer make sure to think of all who might be attending or helping with the set up of your party. If another Mom is helping you out making a fun party favor to give as a thank you would be sweet! We used our white berry baskets and filled them with all kinds of lovely treats. The grown up version on the left contains "sprinkle" themed recipe cards and For You Gift Tags by Polkadot Paper Company. We love that they offer coordinating paper products so you can get a variety of items that match. Their designs are fun and quality is great! We also tucked in some pretty sweet scented "sprinkle" soaps by Soaps By Christina. The oh so cute mini soaps are perfect to put in a little dish or saucer as a decoration! We wrapped the large frosting scented soap bar with a paper cuff we made from Forever Your Prints Party Printables. Their party flags are often used on paper straws but we found out they are the perfect size to fit across the front of a berry basket...who knew?! Personalize the flags and then use a mini clothespin to attach it to the front of the basket. How cute is that?! Washi tape and some pencils were also tucked in. A darling cupcake magnet from Bakery Charms is a must and it is nice to incorporate favor items that go with your party theme. Just wait until you get a closer look at the dessert charms Bakery Charms made for our couture cake topper that someone will get a chance to win! The detail in her work is incredible! For the kids berry basket favors to the right we kept it to sweet treats and trinkets including candies, a fun jar of sprinkles from us, pencils decorated with washi tape which would be a fun craft to do at a party and a couple of Green Mountain Mini Baked Donuts and cookies we decorated. Party favors like these are sure to please no matter the age of your guests!
You can never have enough party favors: Using party favors as decoration in your display helps you get double use out of them. They help decorate the display and then your guests get some fun take home favors! It also let's you get creative with how you package up the variety of treats you want to offer. One of the things that helps make our display so fun is the variety of favors we chose to feature. White tin tie bags filled with Fatty Sunday's sprinkle covered pretzels and cookies are sure to be one of the first that gets grabbed! The mason jar gift tags that Handcrafted Parties Made added the perfect decoration for the bag and they fit perfectly on them. And did you see there are real sprinkles on the gift tags!
Show Stopper Cake #2: We knew for this cake we wanted our couture cake topper made with sweet mini dessert charms from Bakery Charms to be the star. A simple design for the cake with subtle colors and decoration were in order. Since this was the main cake we wanted it to be the largest dessert in the display. We stacked it high with 3 layers of rice crispy cakes. The top layer is a little smaller so the cake topper would fit perfectly. Cotton candy frosting was used between the layers and to add the swirl of decoration to the top of the cake. If you love things super sweet then cotton candy frosting might be just for you! Simple white baby sugar pearls where used to decorate the frosting swirls and white gumballs are the finishing touch to the top of the cake. The vision for a unique cake topper was all made possible by the stunning miniature dessert work of Bakery Charms! We hope this inspires you to make a fun rice crispy cake to be the star at your next party! As part of our big giveaway you will have a chance to win this very special cake topper!
Colored Candy Apples, Say What?: We mentioned that we wanted a nice assortment of sweets and treats to showcase in our display. What could be sweeter than candy apples?! Serena of Mammarella's Sweets and Treats makes the most stunning candy apples I have ever scene. Have you ever seen lavender candy apples before?! Your party guests will be fighting over them! She makes them in pink, aqua or whatever color you need to match your event. Light purple was just perfect for our display! We decorated a little market sign with leftover cookie icing and added sprinkles and wrote "candy apples" with a chalkboard pen. It's the little details that can make your display! When we talk about details we have to mention Lisa of Handcrafted Parties. She sent a few of her custom crafted items to use in our display. The mini mason jar pinata, mason jar gift tag and this darling "sprinkle" themed pennant banner add the most perfect touches to our display and favors! Love the paper she found to use on the banner that goes with our "sprinkles and sweet treats" party display perfectly!
Hello There Cotton Candy: Another sweet treat that is a must for parties is cotton candy! Sweet Puff Candy makes cotton candy for events in SF Bay area and also ships! We knew we had to have some of their fun cotton candy for our "sprinkles and sweet treats" party display! A rustic soft mint green shelf that we found at an antique store was the focal point for our tabletop display. Showcasing the larger treats on it would make quite the statement! We decided what better way to show off their fun cotton candy than to put it in mason jars! We filled the jars with cotton candy being careful not to squish it and added a dash of sprinkles. The top of the lids were decorated with tags made from Forever Your Prints Printable Party sets where you get some scrap booking sheets that you can use for so many things! The final detail that just makes the presentation is the ribbon from Ribbon by Design that we tied around some of the jars and made pretty bows out of. It is all about the sweet finishing touches that can really make your presentation memorable and fun!
