Shauna's Tips on How to Make Chocolate Covered OREO's

To use the full size or mini Oreo cookie molds:
1. Fill each cavity approximately half way with chocolate.
2. Gently press a cookie into the chocolate, but make sure not to go all the way to the bottom or the cookie will show through the chocolate.
3. Tap the mold on the counter a few times to get out any air bubbles and help the chocolate fill in the gap where the filling is.
4. Spoon more chocolate over the top of the cookie to fill the rest of the cavity, making sure not to add too much chocolate so it doesn't spill over. Tap the mold on the counter again for any last air bubbles.
5. Place in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes or until the chocolate is fully set so you can easily pop them out of the mold. If they stick the chocolate is not fully set.

Tip: Don't leave them in the refrigerator for an extended period of time or the chocolate will bloom (turn white). Store them at room temperature, they stay good for a few weeks.

Tip: An easy way to add sprinkles to chocolate covered Oreos is to use store bought cookie icing. We like to use Betty Crocker brand as it dries semi-hard and holds decorations such as sprinkles in place. Apply some on the top of your Oreo and add pretty sprinkles! If you like sprinkle mixes check our all of the Sprinklefetti™ we offer! They save you from buying a bunch of different styles to mix yourself!

Another fun way to decorate chocolate covered Oreos is to use edible art paints! They are fabulous to add a a burst of color and design! You can freehand paint your designs or use cookie stencils to help with more detailed shapes like the star you see on a couple of our full size chocolate covered Oreos. I placed our scattered star cookie stencil on the top of the Oreo and used a used a stencil dabber with a little bit of the edible paint to create the outline of the star. Once that dried I could then paint a second layer on top to create the crisp edges and bold color.
